Name: Could you please introduce yourself?

Pratik R Agrawal, currently working as a Money laundering analyst at Commbank.

Location: Where in Sydney are you currently residing?

Girraween

Origin: Where are you originally from, and what brought you to Sydney?

Ahmedabad. There was a wave at that time when everybody was going to US or Aus. My cousin brother had studied here. I thought it would be a great idea if I could step out of the house to become independent

Motivation: What inspired you to embark on your journey to Australia?

Main motivation was to become independent, get out of the parents umbrella, study, doing job and managing house with few friends was the main learning curve.

Challenges & Triumphs: Could you share a challenge you’ve faced since arriving in Sydney, and how you overcame it?

Main challenge was to cook, clean and maintaining healthy relationships with friends whom you share the house and budget. It can be very difficult living with friends whose thinking are very different to yours.
To overcome, the simple idea is to let go few things, adjust with other people’s thinking and discipline

Positive Perspective: How do you maintain a positive outlook in the face of challenges?

The only way is to keep positive thinking and face the challenge head on keeping in mind that staying strong will overcome any problems.

Favorite Spot: Do you have a favorite place in Sydney that you enjoy spending time at?

Strathfield square: makes me feel nostalgic as I have lived 3 years of my Uni time in Strathfield. Just sitting on the square, seeing kids run around the fountain, a local playing music, birds chirping and the sound of coffee machine is mesmerizing.

Cultural Connection: Are there any specific cultural traditions or practices you’ve brought with you to Sydney?

Gujarati and Hindu : As I am a Hindu born and brought up in Ahmedabad

To attend events or catch up organised by our Indian community. Its the best way to socialise with like minded people
